Nail Trends 2013

Hello Ladies

Seeing as we're in January and it's the beginning of the year, I thought it would be a good idea to keep you all up to date and share some of the new trends for this year with you all, starting with nails.

Pale Nails

Neutral coloured nails have been seen all over the runways and this minimalist trend has become more popular since last year. Pale nails are a great trend for you to wear during Spring and Summer this year.

Karen Walker

Oscar De La Renta

Rag and Bone

Dark Nails

Dark nails were another popular trend on the runways and many different shades were seen from black, to navy (OPI’s Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees) and dark purple (Essie Tuxedo). While this trend is normally very hot for Winter, this year it will carry on into Spring so you'll have plenty of time to rock this trend. Navy was very popular and is a great colour to invest in if you're wanting to follow this trend.

Marchesa (Essie Tuxedo)

Jason Wu (OPI Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees)

Metallics

There were pops of metallics and luxurious finishes on the runways. Adding gold, silver and copper to your mani is a great way to embrace this trend especially in Spring this year. Statements include racing stripes, galaxy nails (see my tutorial here) If you want to experiment with this trend without going too far just add metallic polish to your tips or add some gold or silver glitter to your nails (see my tutorial here)

Two Tone Mani

Another trend that was hot on the runway is the two tone manicure. This is an easy look for you to recreate at home, all you need is two contrasting colours and your imagination. This look can be done with bright coloure or neutrals and both look great. From a twist on the French manicure to half moons, diagonal stripes or a verticle split, the options for this trend are endless.

Phillip Lim

Tracy Reese

Vivian Westwood

Edgy Nails

This trend is not for everyone but is a great one to follow if you want something fun and different on your nails and to stand out from the crowd. Looks on the runway included "shark bite" jagged edges, a caged effect and the much talked about "dripping blood" look at Prabal Gurung.

The Blonds

Rodarte

Magnetic Nails

This was a big trend in 2012 and will carry on into 2013. You can create cool 3D nail art in an instant with a magnetic nail colour, from various brands, and the included magnet.

Ombre Nails

Ombre nails is another trend that was big in 2012 and will carry on into 2013. This look requires some patience to create but looks great and will certainly draw attention to your nails. Whether you use bright, dark or pastel colours or even glitter, your nails are sure to stand out.

Green with Envy

Emerald Green has been named the colour of 2013. Make a statement with this rich jewel colour on your nails.

Hope you all have fun rocking these trends this year :) and don't forget, Ruby Robyn is now on twitter! You can follow us at @RubyRobynBlog :)

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year everyone :)

I hope that this year will be a great one for you all and may all your hopes and dreams for this year come true.

Do you all have resolutions for this year? If you do what are they? I'd love to know what yours are. Mine are to work towards going to America to au pair and working hard to get my dream body.

How did you all spend your new years eve? Whatever you did I hope you had a great time and that not too many of you are hungover :) If you are then spend today resting and drink plenty of water.

I want to make Ruby Robyn better this year than it was last year so I would like to find out from you all what you would like to see more of on this blog in 2013. Do you want workouts, tutorials, reviews or what? Please leave me your suggestions in the comments or you can tweet them to me at @AshBridger26 :)

Happy New Year again :) lets make 2013 an even better year than 2012. Have a great year everyone :)
